Regeneration Tour 2009
Good lord, don't get me started.....Thompson Twins, Tears For Fears, Devo, XTC (ok, a man can dream, can't he?), Ultravox, Haircut One Hundred, Red Rockers...the list could go on and on.

Wow - Didn't think anyone would pick Ultravox (one of my favorite bands of the 80's and very underated)...

HUGE fan of Ultravox....would love to see them. Saw Midge Ure a number of years ago, and he did play some songs (Vienna!!!) but would love to see the old band together again.

Re: Regeneration Tour 2009
Some of these would be impossible, but here's a wishlist off the top of my head:
Thompson Twins
Wang Chung
Visage
Bronski Beat
Soft Cell (or Marc Almond solo)
Theatre Of Hate
Strawberry Switchblade
...and I would definitely see Kaja/Limahl, Bow Wow Wow, & OMD. I'm sure I could add more later after a flip through my records.

Strawberry Switchblade....I WISH! That would be great. Did see Marc Almond a few years back. Fantastic. At the same time saw BWW....they had the drummer for No Doubt with them. Really put on a fun set. Could not agree more about Bronski and Visage. Gotta say, not familiar with ToH. Wang Chung and TT...would see them in a second. Saw TT a number of times back in the 80's, and would really like to see them get back together for a tour.

Re: Regeneration Tour 2009
Theatre Of Hate may be most famous for Kirk Brandon (the man Boy George wrote about as his first serious love-- KB would sue BG for libel, but lost when people testified they really were a couple), & Billy Duffy (who went onto fame in the Cult).
Most famous single they had was "Westworld" but my favorite is "The Hop." If you can find them on YouTube, give them a listen! Apparently Kirk Brandon keeps the ToH name going with a new group every few years for UK tours.
Thompson Twins... I would fly anywhere if there were to be a reunion gig of the most famous 3 member line-up (can't say 'original' line-up since there were about 12 people in TT at some point, ha!). Unfortunately I don't think any of them are interested in it for a variety of reasons.
Same goes for Wang Chung, but I think the chances for a reunion are better! Points On The Curve is one of my favorite albums.

Who Should Be on The Tour 2009
The Fixx , Level 42 , Soft Cell , Triumph, should be on anyones short list and for fun The Bangles , Joan Jett, , Adam Ant , Bow Wow Wow, Cory Hart or even Bryan Adams or John Waite .. or even more way off the path Total Coelo ,Bananarama ..... hmmmmm the list has so many possibilities .. We need more months and more tours !!!
The 2008 tour has a great lineup and the thought of finally seeing some of the really great artists of the 80s that I missed due to one thing or another .. (school and lack of money at the time ) is a great tour and gift .. I LOVE THE 80s ..
Have a great summer

I agree with you....Some of my favorite artists are Level 42, Adam Ant, The Fixx just to name a few. I'd love to see Adam Ant, Howard Jones, Level 42, Tears for Fears, and the Thompson Twins at the 2009 Tour. Now that would be the Ultimate in concerts for me! I bought tickets for the 2008 Tour in Detroit in Aug. I can't wait!
I agree that there should be longer tours with more dates. Grand Rapids Michigan, maybe?

A wish List
So many to choose from. But, Berlin would be great. I saw them at a casino in St. Louis a few years back, when they released "FourPlay". They were great. Terri Nunn is beautiful, and the band come over very well live.
or, maybe:
Reflex
Peter Schilling
Sheila E.
Men Without Hats ( OH YEA!!! )
Nena
ICON
.....and, with any luck, Dead or Alive could make it!!!!!!

Re: Regeneration Tour 2009
Ok, I did a post early on for 2009, but here is my dream list of 6 bands (taking into account those that are realistic....XTC is not realistic, as they do not tour, at all. Ever)
* Blue Nile
* Heaven 17
* The Jesus And Mary Chain
* Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry
* Simple Minds
* Yaz
There are so many more I could add.....many I've seen over the years, but this list sums up bands I've never seen, and would just love to! Probably wouldn't happen, but a guy can dream, can't he?

Yaz(oo)
[b] Yaz (or Yazoo) have re-united. Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke re- united Yaz, and are touring. Known as Yazoo U.K. in England, this tour is one that was never supposed to happen.
Last year, Erasure (Vince Clarke and Andy Bell) released a new cd,performed as part of the very cool line up of the 1st TRUE COLORS TOUR,held a meet and greet in NYC, then launched their own tour.
However, at tour's end, when most were expecting the duo to start work on their next project, Vince Clarke and original Yaz member Alison Moyet ,who scored a hit in the late 80's with her solo tune "Invisible", form her solo disc"Alf",came together to take the classic 80's band back out on the road.
For more update info, go to www.pollstar.com, and search for 'Yaz'.

Re: Regeneration Tour 2009
Yeah, problem is, Yaz is never likely to come close to my town. Unfortunately. Plus, not sure this is very long lasting for them. I think it's just a thing they decided to do, and will end before we know it. A shame really. I'd love to see them.

Thompson Twins
As some of you may know I have been in an email conversation over the past few months with Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins about 2009. The options were to try and convince Alannah to do it as The Thompson Twins or to do it as Tom Bailey of The Thompson Twins and perform a medley of their hits. After a number of emails back and forth Tom has decided he is not ready to do this but has left the door open to discussion about it again sometime in the future. I'm hoping to see him next month as he may be making a trip over here. I was their agent back in the 80's and we have a pretty trusting relationship and I hope to one day convince him to let us all hear all those great songs once again live.

Keep trying! Saw them many times in the 80's, and would love to see them get together for next year.
